What is syncom.org?
Syncom.org is an open platform for the collaborative development of Software. Like sourceforge, this community offers its members to start a new project and to work in common with other users.

But in difference to sourceforge, syncom.org is not restricted to OpenSource, however the end-product has to be free of charge and available for everyone.

Even if there is a project, which source code is not meant to be available for everyone, however it has to be theoretically possible for every user of the community, to participate the project. The decision is with the project-leader of each project. But also it can't be that a project doesn't accept any new developers, except there is a good, organizational reason. (already too many developers)

The members of a project, which has decided not to publish the source code, are obligated not to publish, distribute or even sell the source code or any other relevant information in any way. The precise terms can be defined in a license-contract by the project-leader. This license has to be viewable by the public.

Free trac-installation for the project
All data is RAID-1 secured
regular backups of our server

Depending on the project the administrators decide, how much disk-space can be used. (mostly enough)

Why is the syncom.org-Board only available in German?
Due to the litte response we got so far we think that it is not reasonable to create an english board. If you want to use our service, you can mail or write to me via icq. If there's anybody, who wants to manage and care for an english board let me know.

How to participate?
To participate a project, you have to contact the project-leader via PM. The project leader is named in the "Projekte"-list.

How to host a new project?
Please contact an administrator of the Board. A Web-Interface for creating a new project is in progress.
